Student Ministries
What we believe about Student Ministry:
We believe that Student Ministry is relational. In 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 Paul gives us a model for Student ministry by sharing, "As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." This is our verse for Student Ministry.
We believe in an organized Student Ministry including a balance of both times of teaching and of fellowship but, we believe that through building relationships with young people the youth worker can offer very positive, effective, and powerful ministry. We believe this follows Jesus' model of ministry with the twelve apostles. He spent time with them, ate with them, walked with them, etc. and through these experiences they became the men of God that impacted their world and ours. I like to think of the apostles as Jesus' Student group. It is because of Jesus' time with these men that we have Christianity today!! This style of relational,discipleship oriented ministry to youth moves across barriers to meet people right where they are, with the love of God.
